Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Billing Engineer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing client billing, subcontractor billing, quantity verification, cost tracking, and project documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of construction drawings, BOQ analysis, quantity surveying, and contract billing procedures.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, site engineers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely billing throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit Running Account (RA) Bills and Final Bills as per project progress and contractual requirements.
- Verify quantities executed at site through measurements, drawings, and work completion records.
- Prepare quantity take-offs from construction drawings and BOQ documents.
- Review and certify subcontractor and vendor bills based on actual work completed.
- Maintain billing records, measurement sheets, invoices, payment certificates, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with site engineers and project teams to obtain measurement details and work completion reports.
- Monitor project costs and compare actual quantities against BOQ quantities.
- Prepare reconciliation statements for materials, quantities, and project costs.
- Track billing status, payment approvals, and outstanding receivables.
- Assist in project cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting activities.
- Prepare monthly billing reports, work progress reports, and management summaries.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, project specifications, and company procedures.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate billing and project records.
- Resolve billing-related queries from clients, consultants, and subcontractors in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in Billing Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Cost Management.
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, RA billing, and final billing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and ERP/Billing Software.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or high-rise construction projects.
- Familiarity with project cost control, contract management, and reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of billing standards, project accounting, and construction documentation.
