- Job Summary: We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and responsible Staff Nurse to provide quality nursing care in the OPD and Emergency Room. The role involves patient assessment, emergency care, medication administration, assisting doctors with procedures, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients on arrival and record vital signs, symptoms, and relevant medical history.
- Provide nursing care to OPD and emergency patients according to established clinical protocols.
- Triage emergency patients and promptly identify patients requiring immediate medical attention.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during consultations, minor procedures, dressings, suturing, and emergency interventions.
- Provide first aid and emergency nursing care, including CPR/BLS when required.
- Monitor patients' clinical condition and promptly report any deterioration to the doctor.
- Perform wound care, dressing, catheterization, nebulization, and other nursing procedures as per competency and hospital protocol.
- Prepare patients for investigations and procedures and provide appropriate pre- and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, treatment records, medication charts, and other documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and administration of medications and medical supplies.
- Maintain infection-control, hand-hygiene, biomedical-waste management, and patient-safety standards.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding medications, treatment plans, follow-up, and basic health precautions.
- Coordinate with doctors, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other departments for smooth patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and adequate stock of emergency equipment and supplies.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate important patient information effectively.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies, nursing standards, and professional ethics.
Job Title: Staff Nurse – NICU
Department: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Job Summary
The NICU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns. The role involves continuous monitoring of neonates, administration of medications and treatments, assisting neonatologists during procedures, maintaining infection-control standards, supporting parents, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill neonates.
- Monitor and record vital signs, oxygen saturation, temperature, respiratory status, blood glucose, intake/output, and other clinical parameters.
- Continuously observe neonates for changes in condition and promptly report abnormalities to the neonatologist.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, antibiotics, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Manage and monitor IV lines, central lines, feeding tubes, and other neonatal devices as per hospital protocols.
- Assist with the care and monitoring of neonates receiving oxygen therapy, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory support.
- Assist doctors during procedures such as intubation, resuscitation, line insertion, and other emergency interventions.
- Perform neonatal resuscitation when required and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Provide enteral feeding, tube feeding, and nutritional support according to prescribed orders.
- Maintain thermoregulation using incubators, radiant warmers, and other appropriate equipment.
- Maintain strict infection-prevention and hand-hygiene practices to reduce the risk of neonatal infections.
- Follow aseptic techniques during procedures and while handling lines, catheters, and other equipment.
- Maintain accurate nursing records, medication charts, observation charts, fluid balance records, and clinical documentation.
- Ensure proper identification of newborns and follow patient-safety protocols at all times.
- Monitor and maintain NICU equipment, emergency trays, oxygen supply, suction apparatus, and other essential equipment.
- Support kangaroo mother care and encourage appropriate parent involvement in neonatal care.
- Educate and counsel parents regarding feeding, hygiene, medication, breastfeeding, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate sensitively with parents and family members.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate relevant clinical information accurately.
- Coordinate with neonatologists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain proper biomedical-waste segregation and disposal according to hospital policy.
- Participate in quality-improvement activities, audits, training programs, and continuing nursing education.
Qualification : B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
