Role Overview
The Commis II – South Indian is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of South Indian dishes while maintaining quality, hygiene, and kitchen standards. The role supports senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and ensures timely food production.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Assist in preparing and cooking South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas, curries, chutneys, and sambar.
- Perform tasks like cutting, grinding, batter preparation, and plating.
- Support the dosa/tawa section during service hours.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation as per standards.
Kitchen Operations
- Support the Chef de Partie in managing the South Indian section.
- Ensure proper mise en place is ready before service.
- Follow instructions from senior chefs for smooth operations.
Quality & Hygiene
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Follow proper food storage and FIFO practices.
- Keep workstations and equipment clean and organized.
Inventory & Coordination
- Assist in stock management and ingredient storage.
- Report shortages, spoilage, or damages to senior chefs.
- Coordinate with team members for smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
- 1–3 years of experience in South Indian kitchen operations.
- Basic knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
