Job Purpose:
The Purchase Executive is responsible for handling all procurement activities related to vessel spares, stores, consumables, and services. This includes managing requisitions, sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotations, preparing purchase orders, coordinating logistics, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of required items to vessels and warehouses worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle all types of requisitions, including urgent requirements received via PAL system or email.

Send Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to a minimum of five (5) suppliers for each purchase (excluding contracted items) and ensure receipt of at least three (3) competitive quotes.

Evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and prepare purchase orders within agreed KPI timelines.

Track all purchase orders to ensure timely delivery onboard vessels or at designated warehouses.

Review the quality and compliance of purchased products and participate in vendor evaluation activities.

Coordinate with Vessel Technical Managers (VTMs) and attend daily purchasing and technical meetings; act upon discussed points promptly.

Arrange logistics for all orders and ensure efficient delivery to assigned vessels globally.

Monitor deliveries to contracted warehouses and manage direct deliveries from suppliers to vessels when necessary.

Ensure urgent spares and consumables are forwarded to designated vessels efficiently to minimize operational and economic impact.

Handle and process invoices related to purchases in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to agreed payment terms.

Ensure suppliers provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all IMO-classified goods.

Maintain accurate purchase records and documentation in compliance with company policies and audit requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

1–5 years of experience in marine procurement or purchasing within the shipping industry.

Experience working with vessel managers and technical departments is an advantage.
CTC would be around 4 ~ 6 lacs, depending on seniority and profile.
