Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and technically sound Sr. Production Officer to independently handle and manage the Assembly (Welding) and Painting sections of our manufacturing plant. The role demands strong shop-floor leadership, deep process knowledge, and the ability to plan and execute production activities to meet daily and monthly targets.
The painting facility includes a 9-tank hot phosphating line, and the candidate must possess hands-on technical understanding of surface treatment and painting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage Assembly (MIG / CO₂ welding) and Painting operations
- Plan, schedule, and monitor daily & monthly production activities
- Ensure achievement of production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines
- Handle and manage shop-floor manpower, including welders, painters, and helpers
- Ensure correct implementation and monitoring of:
- MIG / CO₂ welding processes
- Surface preparation and hot phosphating (9-tank line)
- Painting, priming, drying, and finishing processes
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, and Stores teams for smooth operations
- Monitor process parameters, consumables, and productivity
- Identify and implement improvements in productivity, quality, and cost
- Ensure adherence to safety, housekeeping, and SOPs
- Support audits, customer requirements, and internal process controls
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong technical background in fabrication and painting processes
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- MIG / CO₂ welding
- Painting & priming processes
- Hot phosphating line operations
- Proven experience in labour handling and team management
- Good production planning & execution skills
- Ability to read and understand drawings and process sheets
- Basic computer skills (production reporting, Excel, MIS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Production / related technical field
- Prior experience with automotive OEM vendors
- Previous experience as a vendor to Mahindra & Mahindra – Farm Division will be highly preferred
