JOB DESCRIPTION – SALES MANAGER
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: Management
Pay: 30,000 + commission + travel allowance
Position Summary
The Sales Manager shall be responsible for achieving sales growth, expanding market presence, managing the sales team, developing distributor and retailer relationships, and implementing sales strategies to increase company revenue.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Performance & Growth
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by management.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and submit periodic reports.
- Generate new business opportunities and increase market penetration.
- Identify new distributors, retailers, and institutional customers.
Distributor & Customer Management
- Meet distributors and key customers regularly to strengthen relationships.
- Resolve distributor and customer issues promptly.
- Monitor distributor performance and recommend improvements.
Sales Team Management
- Monitor and evaluate salesman performance.
- Allocate territories and sales targets to sales staff.
- Train, guide, and motivate the sales team to improve productivity.
- Conduct weekly sales review meetings with the sales team.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and submit regular reports including:
- Sales achieved vs monthly targets
- New retailers added
- Retailers lost
- Outstanding payments and collections
- Top selling products
- Low selling products
- Product movement reports
- Market feedback and customer insights
- Competitor activities and pricing
Business Development
- Follow up on leads and conduct cold calls to generate business.
- Identify opportunities for market expansion and product placement.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales.
Sales Planning & Promotions
- Plan promotional activities, schemes, and marketing campaigns.
- Analyze sales trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with management regarding new product launches and promotions.
Communication & Coordination
- Coordinate with production, accounts, and dispatch departments to ensure smooth order execution.
- Conduct weekly review meetings with management and submit updates on sales activities and market developments.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of sales targets
- Sales growth percentage
- Number of new retailers/distributors added
- Collection efficiency and outstanding recovery
- Product distribution and market coverage
- Sales team performance
- Customer retention and satisfaction
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in FMCG sales and distribution preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data and market trends.
- Proficiency in preparing reports and using sales software/MS Excel.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
The Sales Manager shall perform any other duties assigned by management from time to time in the interest of the company.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 per month
