Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager – Agro Commodities to manage end-to-end sourcing, supplier development, market analysis, and procurement operations for agro products. The candidate should have strong knowledge of commodity markets, vendor networks, negotiation skills, and the ability to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage end-to-end procurement of agro commodities such as rice, maize, wheat, pulses, spices, edible oils, and other food ingredients.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, millers, traders, suppliers, and vendors.
· Identify new sourcing opportunities and build a reliable supplier network.
· Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and supply agreements.
· Monitor commodity market trends, price movements, crop availability, and demand-supply conditions.
· Plan procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity.
· Ensure timely purchase execution, delivery coordination, and inventory availability.
· Coordinate with sales, warehouse, finance, quality, and logistics teams for smooth operations.
· Manage vendor performance, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
· Prepare procurement reports, MIS, cost analysis, and market updates.
· Travel to sourcing locations, markets, and vendor sites as required.
Requirements:
· 5+ years of experience in Agro Commodities / FMCG / Food Trading / Procurement.
· Strong knowledge of commodity sourcing and supplier ecosystem.
· Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
· Good understanding of mandi markets, pricing trends, and procurement cycles.
· Experience in handling bulk purchases and vendor management.
· Good communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
· Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems preferred.
