Our projects team is now building world-class capability in India as a new hub of Production and Operations (P&O) Projects India supporting both local and international projects.
Role Synopsis :
bp is looking for an experienced project engineer to support bp India. The position provides project engineering support to various brownfield and greenfield offshore projects as part of a technical service provision. The role contributes directly to bp’s business by enhancing production and increasing hydrocarbon recovery from one of the worlds largest oil fields.
This role will be based in Mumbai and the successful candidate is expected to work in a diverse multi skilled team.
Key Accountabilities :
Support bp project team in developing scope of work and planning of project activities.
Support engagement with ONGC functional teams, contractors and internal bp SMEs (including bp TSI) to collate and synthesize information related to projects.
Integrate inputs from bp and ONGC reservoir, wells and facilities teams.
Work with planner and estimator to help develop project schedules and cost estimates.
Independently lead tasks to completion in support of overall project delivery.
Work with procurement team to progress project deliverables with external suppliers.
Support bp team in developing presentations, reports to communicate progress to management.
Drive knowledge sharing and continuous improvement between teams.
Identify growth projects and technologies necessary to grow production in the medium and long term.
Education :
Degree in engineering discipline.
Membership of a recognised professional body
Job Requirements :
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the offshore oil and gas industry or a related sector.
Track record of delivering oil and gas facility projects or project packages on agreed schedule and cost.
Performance management of contractor activity when accomplishing projects.
Ability to manage multiple activities and to quickly respond to changing business priorities and make value and risk-based prioritization decisions. To integrate short-term tactical and long-term strategic activity to deliver business value.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex technical and operational issues.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional behaviours, fostering strong relationships and teamwork across multiple stakeholders. Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBi, Teams, and SharePoint.
Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate confidently at all organizational levels.
Fluent in written and spoken Hindi, with the ability to communicate confidently at all organizational levels.
Desirable Criteria :
Experience delivering projects on offshore oil and gas processing facilities.
Experience working in international JV’s and complex multicultural environments is preferred. Appreciates the challenges of and value generated by a diverse working environment.
Advanced influencing and communication abilities, supporting successful engagement and alignment at all organizational levels.
Additional Information :
The role will be based in Mumbai
Offshore facilities visits are required. Individuals must be medically fit and certified for offshore site visits.
