Production Manager – Residential Interior Manufacturing

We are an interior manufacturing company providing manufacturing support to multiple interior design and execution companies.
Our manufacturing is focused on residential interiors, including:
- Modular Kitchens
- Wardrobes
- TV Units
- Crockery Units
- Storage Units
- Bedroom Furniture
- Other Modular Residential Furniture
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager who can take overall responsibility for the manufacturing operation and manage the complete production team.
The Production Manager will oversee the Floor In-Charge, Quality Team, Machine Operators, Carpenters, Helpers and other production staff and ensure that all projects are completed with the required quality, productivity and timelines.
Key Responsibilities1. Overall Production Management
- Take complete ownership of the manufacturing operation.
- Plan, manage and monitor day-to-day production.
- Ensure all jobs are completed as per project requirements and delivery schedules.
- Manage multiple residential interior projects simultaneously.
- Monitor production from cutting → CNC → edge banding → drilling → carpentry → assembly → quality check → dispatch.
- Identify bottlenecks and take corrective action.
2. Team Management
Directly manage and coordinate:
- Floor In-Charge / Supervisors
- Quality Inspectors
- CNC Operators
- Beam Saw / Panel Saw Operators
- Edge-Banding Operators
- Carpenters
- Helpers
- Assembly / Packing Team
- Set daily and weekly targets for the team.
- Allocate responsibilities through the Floor In-Charge.
- Monitor manpower productivity and utilisation.
- Maintain discipline and accountability across the floor.
- Build and train a strong production team.
3. Floor In-Charge Management
- Guide and monitor the Floor In-Charge.
- Review daily production plans and job status.
- Ensure manpower is allocated correctly.
- Monitor machine utilisation and production flow.
- Review pending and delayed jobs.
- Ensure production issues are escalated and resolved quickly.
- Ensure the Floor In-Charge takes ownership of daily execution.
4. Quality Management
- Oversee the Quality Inspection team.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for residential interior products.
- Ensure quality checks are conducted at every important production stage.
- Monitor defects, rejection and rework.
- Identify recurring quality problems and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure finished products meet drawing, dimension, finish and installation requirements.
- Reduce site-level quality complaints and rework.
5. Production Planning
- Prepare production plans based on project priorities and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with design, project and management teams.
- Understand drawings, cutting lists and production requirements.
- Plan machine and manpower requirements.
- Prioritise urgent projects without disturbing overall production flow.
- Ensure materials and components are available before production starts.
6. Machine & Process Management
Ensure effective utilisation of:
- CNC Machines
- Beam Saw / Panel Saw
- Edge-Banding Machines
- Drilling Machines
- Other woodworking machinery
- Monitor machine productivity and downtime.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and breakdown support.
- Improve production processes and machine utilisation.
- Reduce unnecessary waiting time and bottlenecks.
7. Material & Wastage Control
- Monitor usage of plywood, MDF, HDHMR, laminates, hardware and other materials.
- Coordinate with stores and purchase teams.
- Ensure materials are available according to production requirements.
- Monitor material wastage.
- Reduce production losses and unnecessary consumption.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
8. Productivity & Cost Control
- Set production targets and monitor achievement.
- Improve manpower productivity.
- Improve machine utilisation.
- Reduce overtime wherever possible through better planning.
- Reduce rework, rejection and wastage.
- Improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
9. Production Reporting
Review and maintain daily/weekly production information including:
- Jobs completed
- Jobs in production
- Pending jobs
- Production output
- Manpower utilisation
- Machine utilisation
- Machine downtime
- Rework and rejection
- Quality issues
- Material shortages
- Delayed jobs
- Dispatch-ready jobs
Provide regular production updates to management.
10. Coordination With Other Teams
Work closely with:
- Design Team
- Project/Execution Team
- Purchase Team
- Stores Team
- Quality Team
- Production Team
- Management
Ensure there is clear communication regarding drawings, materials, priorities, quality issues and delivery commitments.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a strong, hands-on Production Manager from the residential interior / modular furniture manufacturing industry.
The candidate should have experience managing not only machines but also people, production flow and quality.
Preferred Experience
- 7–12 years of relevant production/manufacturing experience.
- Strong experience in modular kitchens, wardrobes and residential interior furniture.
- Experience managing a complete production team.
- Previous experience managing supervisors/Floor In-Charges and QC personnel.
- Good practical understanding of CNC, beam saw, edge banding and
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
