Experience:
- 2-10 years in solar / renewable energy / power / capital equipment sales
- Experience in C&I, EPC, Group Captive or project sales preferred
- Candidates from adjacent industries (HVAC, DG sets, industrial equipment, energy solutions) can be considered
- Must have hands-on experience in client handling, proposals, and deal closure
Salary Range: 80k to 1 lac
Roles:
Business Development Strategy
- Identify solar & renewable business opportunities (C&I, Open Access, Group Captive)
- Conduct market research, track policies (MNRE, GEDA, DISCOM) & competition
- Develop BD strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Acquire high-value industrial clients (textiles, chemicals, pharma, FMCG)
- Build relationships with clients, partners & government bodies
- Negotiate & close EPC / solar projects and long-term contracts
Proposal Development
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals with ROI analysis (IRR, LCOE, payback)
- Develop segment-specific pitches and ensure competitive pricing
- Coordinate with engineering & finance teams for accurate proposals
Project Coordination
- Ensure smooth project handover and execution with internal teams
- Track project progress and manage client communication
- Support commissioning and client sign-offs
Regulatory & Compliance
- Stay updated on solar policies, net metering, open access & captive rules
- Ensure proposals & agreements comply with regulatory norms
Reporting & Performance
- Maintain CRM, track pipeline, and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Monitor KPIs, forecasts, and business performance metrics
Market Expansion & Branding
- Identify new markets and growth opportunities
- Represent company at industry events and generate leads
- Support development of new verticals like BESS
BESS & Emerging Technology Sales
- Develop pipeline for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions
- Identify clients for peak shaving & backup use-cases
- Track storage policies and support proposal development
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work cross-functionally with sales, engineering & operations teams
- Share market insights and contribute to business growth strategies
Qualification:
- B.E. / B.Tech (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or related field)
- MBA in Sales/Marketing - preferred
- Diploma with strong relevant experience may be considered
