Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our Customer Technical Support team. The role involves providing design-based support to customers, resolving technical queries, and creating/modifying engineering drawings using AutoCAD. You will act as a technical liaison between the customer and internal design/manufacturing teams, ensuring timely and accurate support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand customer requirements and provide timely design solutions.
- Prepare and modify 2D drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and customer requests to provide accurate support.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality departments to resolve customer complaints or feedback.
- Create layout proposals, assembly drawings, and part drawings based on customer specifications.
- Provide technical support to the sales and customer service teams on product feasibility and customization.
- Participate in technical discussions with clients to provide design clarifications and recommendations.
- Maintain an organized database of drawings, documents, and correspondence.
- Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensuring design compliance with internal standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis for product-related customer issues and implement corrective actions.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech).
- 1–2years of experience in mechanical design
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
