Job Description — Production Manager
Position Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for running efficient, high-quality factory operations and ensuring finished products reach outlets on time and in full. The role spans three core areas — factory operations, vendor management, and product delivery and dispatch — and works closely with the Operations and Quality Control Head to meet production targets, control costs, and maintain product and food-safety standards.
Roles and Responsibilities1. Factory Operations
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure output targets and production schedules are consistently met.
- Plan production based on demand forecasts and order requirements, allocating manpower, machinery, and shifts efficiently.
- Maintain quality and food-safety standards across all production processes, ensuring compliance with FSSAI and internal hygiene norms.
- Supervise, train, and manage factory staff, setting clear responsibilities and monitoring performance on the floor.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and smooth functioning of equipment to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
- Monitor and control production costs, raw-material consumption, and wastage, driving continuous improvement in efficiency and yield.
- Enforce workplace safety, cleanliness, and standard operating procedures across the factory.
2. Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements to secure the best value without compromising quality.
- Ensure timely procurement and adequate stock levels to avoid production stoppages or excess inventory.
- Monitor vendor performance on quality, consistency, delivery timelines, and pricing, and maintain a rated vendor list.
- Build strong vendor relationships and develop backup/alternate suppliers to reduce supply risk.
- Coordinate with the quality team to inspect incoming materials and resolve quality or supply issues with vendors.
3. Product Delivery and Dispatch
- Plan and manage the timely dispatch of finished products to outlets, distributors, and quick-commerce platforms.
- Coordinate logistics, fleet, and third-party delivery partners to ensure deliveries are on schedule and in full.
- Manage finished-goods inventory and dispatch scheduling to meet customer and platform requirements.
- Coordinate with quick-commerce partners (Instamart, Zepto, Blinkit, BigBasket) to align dispatch with order demand and restocking needs.
- Track and optimize delivery costs, turnaround times, and dispatch accuracy.
- Maintain dispatch and delivery records, and report performance metrics to senior management.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Production/Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, Operations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in production or factory management, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing, or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, quality control, and food-safety standards (FSSAI/GMP).
- Experience in vendor management, procurement, and cost control.
- Familiarity with logistics, dispatch, and quick-commerce/retail supply chains.
- Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage teams and multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in reporting, inventory, and basic data analysis tools

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
