Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Lathe Machine Operator to operate conventional lathe machines and perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, grooving, and other machining operations as per drawings and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional lathe machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, threading, grooving, and chamfering operations.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods.
- Set and align jobs accurately using chuck, centers, and other fixtures.
- Measure components using Vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Ensure components are produced as per required dimensions and quality standards.
- Inspect finished components and identify dimensional defects.
- Perform minor machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain proper machine condition, cleanliness, and lubrication.
- Follow production schedules and achieve daily production targets.
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams when required.
- Maintain proper housekeeping around the machine and work area.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of conventional lathe machine operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of machining tolerances and dimensions.
- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of different cutting tools and machining processes.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Good understanding of workplace safety.
- Quality-conscious and target-oriented.
Qualification
- ITI – Fitter / Turner / Machinist or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant practical experience in lathe machine operation will be preferred.
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing / sheet metal / engineering fabrication environment.
- Experience working with MS, SS and other engineering materials is an advantage.

Working Conditions

Pay: From ₹17,500.00 per month
