Job Description – Purchase Manager
Position: Purchase Manager
Department: Purchase
Location: VGP Heritage
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, source, and procure food, beverages, housekeeping, engineering, and operational supplies as per organizational requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to obtain the best quality, pricing, and delivery terms.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Coordinate with all departments to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to achieve cost savings.
- Verify the quality and quantity of materials received in coordination with the Stores Department.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor databases, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while ensuring timely deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company standards in all procurement activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost-control skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management and food & beverage purchasing.
- Proficiency in MS Office and purchase/inventory management software.
- Good analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet procurement deadlines.
