Job Title: Mason
Job Summary:
A Mason is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, stone, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials. The role involves reading drawings, preparing surfaces, mixing mortar, and ensuring quality workmanship according to project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, and other masonry materials.
- Construct and repair walls, foundations, floors, and other structures.
- Mix and apply mortar, cement, and grout.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Measure and cut materials accurately.
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and finishing of masonry work.
- Repair damaged masonry structures and surfaces.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow site safety regulations and company procedures.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of masonry techniques and construction methods.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Skill in using masonry tools and equipment.
- Good physical fitness and stamina.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years of masonry experience (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of construction safety practices.
- Ability to perform outdoor and physically demanding work.
Working Conditions
- Work at construction sites, residential projects, and commercial buildings.
- May require lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather conditions.
