What Will You Do?
We are looking for a passionate and driven Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) to strengthen our supply chain and support Howden's product development and export projects.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work across casting, machining, fabrication, and FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) manufacturing, including hands-on exposure to FRP fan blades within our manufacturing facilities.
- Develop and qualify suppliers for castings, machining, fabrication components
- Will be responsible for development and quality of FRP products in Chennai factory.
- Drive APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and process validation at supplier end & in factory
- Support new product development (NPD) and prototype readiness
- Conduct supplier audits and drive continuous improvement
- Improve supplier performance in quality, delivery, and cost
- Support export projects, customer audits, and compliance requirements
Your Experience Should Be…
Experience in Supplier Quality / Supplier Development / Manufacturing (5-8 years)
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Strong knowledge of casting, machining, fabrication, and FRP/composites
Exposure to FRP blade manufacturing, molding, curing, and inspection preferred
Hands-on with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and RCA (8D/5 Why)
Background in heavy engineering / rotating equipment is a plus
