As we continue to strengthen our publishing portfolio and expand our presence in the education market, we are looking for an Assistant Manager – Brand & Marketing to drive brand visibility, product positioning, marketing campaigns, and market engagement.
Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Brand & Marketing will be responsible for planning and executing marketing initiatives for GBP's books, educational products, and publishing portfolio.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in publishing, educational publishing, K-12, academic content, or a related industry, with a good understanding of how educational products are positioned and marketed to schools, teachers, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand & Product Marketing
Develop and execute brand and product marketing strategies for GBP's publishing portfolio.
Manage positioning and communication for new and existing book titles and educational products.
Develop marketing plans for product launches, academic sessions, and promotional activities.
Ensure consistent brand communication across marketing channels and promotional materials.
Identify opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and market presence.
2. Marketing Campaigns
Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels.
Coordinate campaigns for new book launches, revised editions, curriculum updates, and key academic periods.
Work closely with creative teams to develop brochures, catalogues, product presentations, social media creatives, promotional materials, and other marketing assets.
Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements based on results.
3. Market & Competitor Research
Conduct market research to understand customer requirements, competitor offerings, pricing, positioning, and emerging trends.
Track competitor books, product launches, marketing strategies, and promotional activities.
Identify new market opportunities and provide actionable insights to management.
Gather feedback from sales teams, schools, teachers, and other stakeholders to improve product positioning and marketing strategies.
4. Sales & Marketing Coordination
Work closely with the sales team to develop marketing materials and sales-support tools.
Support the sales team with product presentations, catalogues, product comparisons, campaign communication, and promotional strategies.
Coordinate with regional sales teams to understand market requirements.
Develop marketing initiatives that support product adoption and sales growth.
5. Content & Communication
Plan marketing content for social media, websites, email campaigns, brochures, catalogues, and other communication channels.
Work with content and creative teams to ensure marketing communication is relevant and aligned with the brand.
Assist in developing product descriptions, campaign messaging, promotional copy, and launch communication.
Ensure consistency in brand tone, messaging, and visual communication.
6. Product Launches
Support end-to-end marketing activities for new book and product launches.
Develop launch plans, communication strategies, promotional campaigns, and supporting marketing materials.
Coordinate with editorial, production, sales, design, and other internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
Support the development of launch presentations and product communication.
7. Performance Tracking & Reporting
Track marketing campaign performance and prepare regular reports.
Monitor campaign reach, engagement, leads, product enquiries, and sales contribution.
Analyse marketing performance and recommend improvements.
Maintain marketing calendars, campaign trackers, and performance reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communication, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in brand marketing, product marketing, or marketing roles.
Publishing industry experience is strongly preferred.
Candidates with experience in educational publishing, K-12 publishing, academic publishing, or EdTech will be preferred.
Strong understanding of brand positioning and product marketing.
Good knowledge of marketing campaign planning and execution.
Strong market research and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation and coordination skills.
Ability to work with creative, content, editorial, sales, and management teams.
Good understanding of digital and traditional marketing channels.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
