About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) – Design Engineering to join our engineering team. The candidate will work closely with senior design engineers and project teams in the design and development of food processing, pharmaceutical and industrial process equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fresh engineering graduate who wants to build strong practical skills in mechanical design, fabrication, equipment development and industrial engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of process equipment and machinery.
- Prepare 3D models, 2D drawings and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
- Support senior engineers in equipment design calculations and selection of components.
- Prepare BOMs, material specifications and component details.
- Understand and prepare basic P&ID, GA drawings and equipment layouts.
- Coordinate with the fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Make design modifications based on production, customer and site requirements.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation, equipment specifications and manuals.
- Participate in equipment installation, commissioning and troubleshooting when required.
- Visit customer sites occasionally for measurements, inspections and technical support.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering, safety and fabrication requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control of drawings.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawing and mechanical design.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred.
- Understanding of fabrication processes such as welding, cutting, machining and sheet-metal fabrication will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to learn and work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- SolidWorks 3D modelling and assembly.
- Sheet-metal design.
- Knowledge of SS304/SS316 and industrial equipment fabrication.
- Basic understanding of pumps, valves, motors, heat exchangers and process equipment.
- Knowledge of GD&T and engineering standards is an added advantage.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Training & Career Development
The selected candidate will undergo practical training in:
- Mechanical equipment design
- SolidWorks modelling
- Engineering drawings and BOM preparation
- Equipment fabrication
- Process equipment design
- Manufacturing and quality practices
- Equipment installation and commissioning
- Customer-site technical support
Based on performance, the candidate will progress into the role of Design Engineer with increased responsibility in independent equipment design and project execution.
Working Hours
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM | Monday to Saturday
