Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Lab Technician to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing Pathology tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This role involves using sophisticated laboratory equipment, maintaining quality control, and ensuring accurate test results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, process, and assess patient samples for testing.
- Perform routine and specialized biochemistry investigations as per SOPs.
- Operate automated/semi-automated biochemistry analyzers.
- Perform calibration, reagent handling, daily maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Run and monitor Internal Quality Control (IQC) and participate in EQAS.
- Review instrument flags and abnormal/critical results and escalate appropriately.
- Ensure accurate entry and verification of results in the LIS.
- Maintain required QC, maintenance, reagent, and testing records.
- Monitor reagent/consumable stock, expiry, and storage conditions.
- Follow NABL requirements, laboratory safety, infection-control, and biomedical waste procedures.
- Maintain defined turnaround times and report delays/errors to the concerned supervisor.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold laboratory quality standards.
Qualification & Experience:
- B.Sc. MLT / Medical Laboratory Science / Biochemistry or equivalent.
- DMLT/BMLT candidates may be considered based on experience.
- Prior experience in a diagnostic laboratory is preferred.
- Experience with automated biochemistry analyzers such as Atellica, Cobas, Vitros, Beckman Coulter, AU, or similar platforms is an advantage.
