Optometrist – Job Responsibilities (Eye Hospital)
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to check vision and eye health.
- Conduct vision tests and determine the correct power for glasses or contact lenses.
- Use diagnostic equipment to examine patients’ eyes.
- Assist ophthalmologists in patient examinations and treatments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and test results.
- Explain eye test results and recommend suitable spectacles or lenses.
- Identify vision problems and refer patients to the ophthalmologist if required.
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative patient care (for eye surgeries).
- Maintain and handle optometry equipment properly.
- Ensure patient comfort and provide professional guidance on eye care.
Skills Required
- Degree or Diploma in Optometry
- Good communication with patients
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to handle diagnostic equipment
