- Design mechanical components, assemblies, and structures for high-voltage test systems (e.g., impulse generators, AC/DC testing systems) in accordance with design standards and customer specifications
- Develop and update detailed 3D models and technical drawings, ensuring their accurate release in PLM and ERP systems
- Manage engineering change notices for components and assemblies
- Explore alternative materials and manufacturing technologies to enhance efficiency
- Conduct cost analysis and propose optimizations for manufacturing processes
- Identify local component suppliers and oversee supplier quality control
- Redesign noncritical components with appropriate approvals
- Perform mechanical validation of various components
- Prepare technical documentation for internal and external use
- Handle administrative tasks as required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- 8+ years experience in design and development of mechanical components and systems with sound knowledge of mechanical design, materials and manufacturing processes
- Experience in design and development of electro-mechanical products with sound knowledge of design of moulded, sheet metal, machined, cast component design
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor or similar) and experience with PDM tools (e.g., Autodesk Vault or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical details in a clear and concise manner
- Hands-on experience in mechanical production and assembly, with a strong focus on practical application and process execution, is highly advantageous
- Experience in design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA) and assembly
- Strong analytical skills, including expertise in component design and selection, stress analysis, fatigue life assessment, component fits, and efficient, ergonomic assembly methods
- Familiarity with ERP tools such as SAP S4 Hana (e.g., MM module) is a plus
- Knowledge of high-voltage systems, including impulse generators and AC/DC testing systems, with an understanding of their mechanical design is advantageous
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken). German language skills will be an added advantage.
