Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester to join us on a short-term contract basis for 1 month. The candidate will be responsible for manually testing software applications, identifying bugs, and ensuring overall product quality before release. This is a focused, time-bound engagement requiring full availability during the specified shift across all days of the week.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of web and/or mobile applications across functional, regression, and UI testing
- Identify, document, and track bugs/defects using appropriate tools
- Execute test cases based on requirements and specifications
- Verify bug fixes and perform re-testing as needed
- Collaborate with developers to understand features and clarify requirements
- Prepare test reports and provide clear, timely updates on testing progress
- Ensure thorough coverage of edge cases and non-happy-path scenarios
- Maintain test documentation including test cases, scripts, and logs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in manual software testing
- Strong understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) and bug life cycle
- Experience writing and executing test cases
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or similar)
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Willingness to work the specified shift (3:00 PM – 12:00 AM) across all 7 days during the contract period
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to basic automation testing tools (added advantage, not mandatory)
- Experience testing web or mobile applications in an Agile environment
- Prior experience working on short-term/contract assignments
Engagement Details
- Duration: 1 Month (Contract)
- Shift Timing: 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM
- Working Days: All days (no weekly off during contract period)
- Compensation: As per contract terms (to be discussed)
