Job Title: Finance and Compliance Executive

As our retail and digital footprint grows, we are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Finance & Compliance Executive to take complete ownership of our multi-channel accounting, import landed-costing, payroll execution, and statutory filings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Core Accounting & Reconciliations
● Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping, general ledger entries, and accounts finalization.
● Reconcile daily Point of Sale (POS) store collections (Cash, Cards, UPI) against physical cash logs and bank deposits.
● Reconcile e-commerce payments from Shopify, payment gateways (Razorpay/Stripe), and Cash-on-Delivery (COD) courier settlements.
2. Import Financials & Landed Costing
● Calculate precise Landed Cost per SKU for all overseas shipments from China (factoring in factory unit price, ocean/air freight, customs duties, handling charges, and local transport).
● Process foreign currency outward wire transfers, handle Bank Realisation Certificates (BRC/EDPMSC), and manage import documentation/Bill of Entry reconciliation.
3. Statutory Compliance & Tax Filings
● Prepare and file monthly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and perform monthly GSTR-2B purchase reconciliations.
● Handle monthly deductions and filings for West Bengal Professional Tax (P-Tax) and Employees' State Insurance (ESI).
● Manage Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on commercial rent, vendor payments, and contractor fees, ensuring timely deposit and quarterly TDS return filings.
4. Payroll Execution & HR Finance
● Execute monthly payroll processing, sales commissions, and statutory deductions.
● Generate and disburse digital payslips and execute direct salary bank transfers.
5. Vendor, Lease & General Administration
● Track store lease agreements, ensure timely rent disbursements, and manage utility bill payments across all locations.
● Manage local vendor payments, verify purchase invoices against purchase orders, and audit daily store petty cash logs.
● Oversee trade license renewals and maintain compliance documentation under the West Bengal Shops and Establishments Act.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
Educational Background: B.Com. / M.Com. degree in Finance or Accounting.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in retail, import/export, or e-commerce financial accounting.
Software Proficiency:
● Advanced working knowledge of Tally Prime or Zoho Books (Zoho ecosystem experience is a strong plus).
● High proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data reconciliation).
● Hands-on experience navigating government compliance portals (GST, ESI, WB P-Tax, Income Tax).
Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of import valuation, customs duties, multi-channel GST rules, and statutory payroll structures in West Bengal.
