About the Role
We are expanding our team and hiring experienced Department Supervisors for key sections in our Ernakulam hypermarket:
- General Merchandise
- Household
- Food
- Non-Food
- Fresh categories
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving sales, maintaining store standards, and managing a team of helpers and sales associates in your assigned section.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of your department – stocking, merchandising, inventory control, and visual presentation
- Lead, motivate, and supervise team members to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards
- Ensure proper loading/unloading, arrangement of goods, and hygiene in the section
- Monitor stock levels, reduce shrinkage, and coordinate with suppliers/store team for timely replenishment
- Deliver excellent customer service and handle customer queries/complaints in the section
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company policies
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in supermarket/hypermarket retail (experience in the specific category is a strong advantage)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good communication, energetic, and physically fit to handle store floor activities
- Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and basic Excel
- Local candidates from Ernakulam or nearby preferred
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
