Position Summary
The Associate Teacher (Pre-Primary) supports the Mother Teacher in delivering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The role is essential in assisting classroom activities, ensuring individual child attention, supporting learning materials, and helping maintain a well-structured and nurturing early learning environment.
The ideal candidate should be caring, energetic, patient, and passionate about working with young children, with a strong commitment to early childhood education and classroom support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Classroom Support & Assistance
· Assist the Mother Teacher in daily classroom activities and lesson execution.
· Support children during structured and unstructured learning activities.
· Help maintain classroom discipline in a positive and child-friendly manner.
· Provide individual attention to children who require additional support.
· Assist in transitions between activities, breaks, and classroom routines.
2. Learning Support & Activity Facilitation
· Help conduct activity-based learning such as storytelling, rhymes, art, craft, and games.
· Support children in pre-writing, pre-reading, and numeracy tasks.
· Assist in organizing hands-on learning materials, worksheets, and teaching aids.
· Reinforce concepts taught by the Mother Teacher through practice and repetition.
· Encourage participation and engagement among all children.
3. Child Care & Emotional Support
· Support children in developing basic habits such as hygiene, cleanliness, and discipline.
· Help children adjust emotionally and socially within the classroom environment.
· Provide comfort and reassurance to children when needed.
· Ensure children feel safe, included, and encouraged at all times.
· Assist in developing independence in daily routines.
4. Classroom Organization & Resource Management
· Help arrange classroom materials, learning corners, displays, and teaching aids.
· Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom environment.
· Assist in preparing worksheets, craft materials, and activity resources.
· Support in setting up for events, celebrations, and classroom activities.
5. Assessment & Observation Support
· Assist the Mother Teacher in observing and documenting child progress.
· Help maintain child portfolios, activity records, and developmental notes.
· Support in informal assessment activities conducted in the classroom.
· Share observations of children’s behavior and learning progress with the Mother Teacher.
7. Co-Curricular & Event Support
· Assist in organizing school events, celebrations, festivals, and special days.
· Support children during performances, rehearsals, and classroom presentations.
· Help in decorating classrooms for thematic or seasonal activities.
· Participate in storytelling sessions, games, and cultural activities.
8. Parent Interaction Support
· Assist the Mother Teacher in communicating routine updates to parents when required.
· Help maintain positive and professional interaction with parents.
· Support in conveying basic information regarding child activities and behavior.
· Ensure clarity and consistency in communication shared with parents.
9. Administrative Support
· Assist in maintaining attendance records and classroom documentation.
· Help organize teaching materials and educational resources.
· Support the Mother Teacher in preparing lesson-related materials.
· Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school activities.
Required Qualifications
Educational Qualification
· Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline (mandatory).
· Diploma/Certification in Early Childhood Education (NTT / ECCE / Montessori Training preferred).
· Training in child care or pre-primary education will be an added advantage.
Experience
· 0–3 years of experience in pre-primary or early childhood education preferred.
· Freshers with strong interest in early childhood education are encouraged to apply.
· Experience in CBSE or structured preschool environments will be an advantage.
