Position: Electrical Estimation Engineer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimation Engineer to handle estimation, costing, quantity take-off, tender preparation, and commercial evaluation for electrical construction and project works. The candidate should have good knowledge of electrical materials, drawings, BOQ, specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed estimates for electrical projects based on drawings, BOQ, and specifications.
- Perform quantity take-off for electrical materials and equipment.
- Prepare material and labour cost estimates.
- Calculate project quantities, rates, and overall project costs.
- Obtain and compare vendor/subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare rate analysis and identify cost-effective alternatives.
2. Tender & BOQ Preparation
- Study tender documents, electrical drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
- Prepare BOQ and item-wise cost estimates.
- Review tender requirements and identify exclusions, assumptions, and deviations.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals and tender submissions.
- Coordinate with procurement and project teams for accurate pricing.
3. Technical Coordination
- Read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, layouts, schematics, and other technical drawings.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, project, and site teams.
- Clarify technical and commercial requirements with clients and consultants.
- Assist in identifying variations and additional work during project execution.
4. Material Knowledge
Should have good knowledge of:
- Cables and wires
- LT/HT panels
- Transformers
- DG sets
- Switchgear and protection systems
- Cable trays and raceways
- Lighting systems
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Electrical conduits and accessories
- Busbars and busducts
- Fire alarm and ELV systems, if applicable
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain estimation sheets, BOQs, rate analysis, and quotation records.
- Prepare comparison statements and cost summaries.
- Maintain proper documentation of tender submissions.
- Support project teams with cost-related information and reports.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical estimation and costing.
- Good understanding of electrical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity surveying.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and estimation software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tender deadlines.
Qualification & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in electrical estimation, costing, tendering, or electrical construction projects.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, residential, or infrastructure electrical projects is preferred.
