Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, networking systems, servers, and security operations. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in networking, Linux/Windows administration, cloud platforms, server management, automation tools, and IT security.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure laptops/desktops for new employees, including OS installation (Windows and Ubuntu/Linux), software installation, email configuration, and access provisioning.
- Manage IT onboarding and offboarding activities, including asset allocation, user access creation/deactivation, and system access management.
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system-related issues promptly.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle management.
- Configure and manage VPNs, antivirus solutions, and endpoint security.
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, networks, printers, and business applications.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, AMC, warranty, and repair activities.
- Maintain documentation of IT infrastructure, network configurations, SOPs, and policies.
- Ensure regular data backups, storage management, system patching, and security updates.
- Manage printer configurations, shared drives, file servers, and user permissions.
- Support IT audits, compliance, and security initiatives.
- Handle production deployments, release management, and environment support.
- Monitor server health, security, performance, and software upgrades.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN).
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewall configuration.
- Strong experience with Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows administration. Moderate to advanced Linux knowledge is mandatory.
- Experience with Active Directory, user management, and access control.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 (Office 365) and/or Google Workspace administration.
- Good understanding of IT security best practices and endpoint protection.
- Basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Apache and Nginx server configuration and administration.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- Experience managing GitHub repositories and version control.
- Good knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Nagios.
- Knowledge of Shell/Bash scripting for automation and monitoring.
- Basic Python scripting knowledge will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in production deployment and release management.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
