The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, dedicated, and passionate Carnatic Vocal Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the Carnatic tradition, proven teaching experience, and a commitment to helping students develop their vocal technique, musicality, and theoretical understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, engaging vocal instruction to students of varying ages (e.g., 5 and up) and proficiency levels (beginner to advanced).
- Develop and implement structured lesson plans that cover core elements of Carnatic music, including:
- Sarali Varisai, Janta Varisai, Dhatu Varisai, and other foundation exercises.
- Geethams, Swarajathis, Varnas (Adi Tala and Ata Tala).
- Kritis (including compositions by the Trinity and other composers).
- Manodharma components like Alapana, Kalpana Swarams, and Neraval.
- Teach fundamental aspects of Carnatic music theory, including Shruti, Laya, Raga, and Tala.
Specify Minimum Degree/Certification: e.g., Sangeetha Vidwan, Diploma, or Master's Degree] in Carnatic Vocal Music from a recognized institution or equivalent demonstrated performance and teaching experience.
- Proficiency in at least [Specify Language, e.g., Telugu, Tamil, Sanskrit] is preferred for pronunciation of compositions, but not strictly required.
