JOB TITLE: Senior Merchandiser – Export Garments

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Merchandiser who can independently handle and secure international export garment orders. The candidate should have strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, buyer communication, costing, sourcing, order execution, and export documentation. The ideal candidate must be capable of developing business opportunities and managing buyers independently from inquiry to shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and acquire new export garment orders from international buyers.
- Independently manage buyer communication and relationship building.
- Handle complete merchandising activities from order enquiry to shipment.
- Prepare garment costing, quotations, and price negotiations.
- Coordinate with sourcing, production, quality, printing, embroidery, and logistics teams.
- Monitor order execution, T&A (Time & Action) plans, and delivery schedules.
- Follow up with buyers regarding approvals, sampling, production status, and shipment.
- Ensure order profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Identify market opportunities and support export business growth.
- Manage export documentation and compliance requirements.
- Resolve production and delivery issues proactively.
- Maintain MIS reports and order tracking systems.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing and export procedures.
- Excellent merchandising and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and achieve business targets.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and merchandising software.
- Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, costing, and garment construction.
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in garment merchandising/export business.
- Proven track record of independently securing and handling export orders.
- Experience dealing with international buyers (UK, USA, Europe preferred).
Educational Qualification
- Master’s Degree (Mandatory):
- MBA in Marketing / International Business / Operations Management
- OR
- Master’s Degree in Fashion Management / Textile Management / Apparel Management / Merchandising.Language Requirement
- Fluent in English (Mandatory) – Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with international buyers through email, virtual meetings, and negotiations.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Existing buyer network and export market exposure preferred.
- Ability to travel internationally for buyer meetings and exhibitions.
- Result-oriented with strong business development mindset.
