Profile:
- Proven leadership experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering, or heavy engineering industries.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline. Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 15–20 years of experience in marine technical operations, with at least 8–10 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong understanding of shipyard operations, marine fabrication, piping, mechanical systems, quality, and engineering management.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and large-scale marine projects.
- Excellent leadership, strategic planning, budgeting, and decision-making skills.
- Strong knowledge of marine industry standards, classification society requirements, and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement the company's technical vision aligned with business objectives.
- Lead engineering, production, technical, and project execution teams across all shipyard operations.
- Drive innovation, process improvements, and adoption of modern technologies in marine projects.
- Establish technical standards, engineering procedures, and best practices throughout the organization.
2. Engineering & Project Management
- Provide technical oversight for shipbuilding, ship repair, naval refit, offshore, and marine infrastructure projects.
- Review engineering designs, technical specifications, drawings, and project execution plans.
- Ensure projects are delivered within quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Resolve critical engineering and technical challenges during project execution.
3. Shipyard Operations
- Supervise technical activities related to fabrication, piping, mechanical systems, machinery installation, structural work, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, Planning, Procurement, HSE, and Operations departments.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions wherever necessary.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, equipment, and technical resources.
4. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Class Society rules, IMO regulations, statutory requirements, and client specifications.
- Support implementation of ISO standards and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Review technical audits, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain high standards of engineering documentation and technical compliance.
5. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage technical budgets and departmental expenditures.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality or safety.
- Evaluate technical proposals, subcontractor capabilities, and vendor performance.
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, project engineers, and technical specialists.
- Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on safety, innovation, and accountability.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
- Support succession planning for key technical positions.
7. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary technical representative for clients, consultants, classification societies, and regulatory authorities.
- Participate in technical discussions, project reviews, and client meetings.
- Provide technical guidance during proposal preparation, contract execution, and project handover.
8. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead root cause analysis for technical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Drive digital transformation and implementation of modern engineering tools where applicable.
Pay: ₹130,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
