The primary focus of this role is to control and supervise all quality assurance activities in the plant and ensure product quality for all materials and finished goods.
Roles & Responsibilities

Design and build effective quality processes within the organization and work with all process owners to remove bottlenecks.

Conduct product and process audits and plan daily inspection activities to ensure thorough inspection of final products and components.

Ensure effective quality checking activities of products to avoid further errors in processes.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of product quality issues and present findings to senior management.

Conduct stage-wise verification to ensure compliance with stated requirements and analyze stage-wise rejections to control Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ) and first-hand rejections.

Provide quick and effective solutions to quality issues.

Manage field returns and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure timely analysis and resolution of customer complaints.

Carry out calibration activities and ensure timely availability of all measuring instruments.

Track quality performance indicators and achieve targets related to first-hand rejections, Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ), customer returns index, calibration compliance, etc.

Audit Small Group Improvement Activities (SGIA) on a monthly basis and support productivity improvement initiatives.

Support production and cross-functional teams on a daily basis to ensure product quality.

Train, develop, and coach team members while updating them on the latest developments in Quality Assurance.

Handle customer inspections, compliance follow-ups, and factory assessments/evaluations.

Prepare Manufacturing Control Plans.

Coordinate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Demonstrate good knowledge of Electrical Switchgears, Switchboards, and applicable IS/IEC standards.

Possess a sound understanding of testing methods and the operation of testing equipment.

Qualifications, Role-Specific Knowledge & Experience
-
BE/B.Tech, preferably in Electrical Engineering.

8–10 years of relevant work experience in the Quality department within the Electrical Switchgear/Switchboard industry.
-
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Process, Product, and Quality System Audits.
-
Quality certifications such as ISO, TQM, Six Sigma, etc., will be preferred.
-
Internal Auditor certification for ISO 9001/14001 will be an added advantage.

Highly proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), ERP systems, and quality tools such as SPC and SOC.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
