ABOUT THE ROLE OPENINGS
2 positions Nano Instruments is setting up an in-house battery pack assembly unit at our Coimbatore office and we are looking for hands-on technicians to build lithium-ion battery packs. You will work on cell sorting, spot welding, soldering, BMS wiring, and final pack assembly and testing. This is a shop-floor role suited to candidates who enjoy practical, precise work with tools and electronics. No prior experience is required — full on-the-job training will be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assemble lithium-ion battery packs as per drawings, BOM and work instructions. ● Sort, group and arrange cells; fit cell holders, busbars and insulation as specified. ● Perform soldering and spot welding of nickel strips, busbars and connecting wires with clean, reliable joints. ● Wire and connect the BMS (Battery Management System), balance leads, connectors and terminals. ● Fit packs into enclosures — taping, shrink-wrapping, fastening and labelling. ● Carry out basic testing and checks: voltage, continuity, polarity, insulation and charge / discharge verification using a multimeter and test equipment. ● Identify and report defective cells, cold joints, loose connections and other quality issues. ● Maintain daily production records, batch numbers and simple quality checklists. ● Follow all safety, ESD and housekeeping (5S) rules and use the prescribed PPE at all times. ● Keep tools, workstation and consumables in good, organised condition.
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
● Soldering: ability to solder neatly and safely using a soldering iron, flux and solder wire; familiarity with spot welding is an added advantage. ● Battery basics: understanding of cells and battery packs — voltage, current, capacity (Ah), series and parallel connections, and what a BMS does. ● Ability to read and follow simple wiring diagrams, drawings and assembly instructions. ● Comfortable using hand tools and basic instruments such as a multimeter, screwdrivers, crimping tool and heat gun. ● Good eyesight, steady hands and attention to detail for fine assembly work. ● Safety-conscious — aware that lithium-ion cells must be handled carefully and never short-circuited. ● Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a small production team.
ELIGIBILITY
● Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, EEE, ECE or Mechanical preferred. 10th or 12th pass candidates with genuine hands-on interest may also apply. ●
Experience:
Freshers are welcome. Prior experience in electronics assembly, soldering, wiring harness or EV / battery work is an advantage but not mandatory. ● Language: Tamil essential; basic English or Hindi is helpful. ● Candidates based in or willing to relocate to Coimbatore.
