Position: Senior MerchandiserJob Responsibilities
- Lead merchandising activities from product development to final shipment, ensuring timely execution of orders.
- Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify customer preferences, industry trends, and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with design, production, and sales teams to develop new product lines and seasonal collections.
- Prepare product costing, negotiate prices with suppliers, and manage budgets to achieve target margins.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with buyers, vendors, and manufacturing partners.
- Oversee sourcing activities, supplier selection, and material procurement while ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
- Plan and monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and effective order management.
- Review and approve samples, ensuring compliance with buyer requirements, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor quality control processes and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage inventory levels and support demand forecasting to optimize production planning.
- Coordinate logistics, shipping schedules, and export/import documentation to ensure smooth delivery processes.
- Lead and mentor merchandising team members, providing guidance, training, and performance support.
- Act as the primary point of contact for buyers and clients, providing regular updates on order status and production progress.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, ethical standards, and industry regulations.
- Analyse sales, production, and operational performance data and prepare management reports.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement strategies to enhance productivity, quality, and profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile, Fashion, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in garment/apparel merchandising.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, costing, production planning, and buyer communication.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and merchandising-related reporting.
