Role Overview
We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Python development experience and hands-on exposure to Generative AI to join our engineering team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have solid experience building scalable backend services and APIs using Python, along with practical experience integrating LLMs, RAG pipelines, AI agents, and GenAI capabilities into production applications.
The candidate should be comfortable working across backend architecture, API development, databases, cloud services, and modern GenAI frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Python.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Develop backend services supporting Generative AI and LLM-based applications.
- Integrate LLMs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar models into business applications.
- Build and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines using vector databases and embedding models.
- Develop AI-powered workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalent.
- Work with vector databases such as Pinecone, Azure AI Search, ChromaDB, FAISS, or similar technologies.
- Design efficient data processing, prompt orchestration, and context retrieval workflows.
- Develop and integrate AI agents / agentic workflows where applicable.
- Optimize backend services for performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.
- Implement authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, error handling, and API security.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production-ready Python code.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, data engineers, ML/AI engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, debugging, and production support.
- Deploy and maintain applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies such as Docker.
Required Skills
Backend / Python
- 4–6 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python.
- Strong experience with FastAPI / Flask / Django.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, API design, and backend architecture.
- Good knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Redis, MongoDB, or other NoSQL technologies is an advantage.
Generative AI
- Hands-on experience developing applications using Generative AI / LLMs.
- Experience with OpenAI / Azure OpenAI or equivalent LLM APIs.
- Strong understanding of RAG architecture and implementation.
- Experience with embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and document retrieval.
- Experience with one or more frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, etc.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, context management, LLM evaluation, and hallucination mitigation.
- Exposure to AI agents / agentic workflows is highly desirable.
Cloud & DevOps
- Exposure to AWS / Azure / GCP.
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and Git-based development workflows.
- Experience deploying and monitoring backend/AI applications in cloud environments is a plus.
Good to Have
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry / AWS Bedrock / Google Vertex AI.
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or tool-calling architectures.
- Knowledge of LLM fine-tuning, LoRA/PEFT, or model evaluation.
- Experience with Kafka or other event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with observability tools and production monitoring.
- Experience building enterprise-grade AI applications with security and data privacy considerations.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
