Position: Pricing & Customer Relation Manager – Freight Forwarding
Location: Mumbai
Experience: Minimum 5 Years (including 3+ years in Freight Forwarding Pricing and Customer Relationship Management)
Job Summary
The Pricing & Customer Relation Manager – Freight Forwarding will be responsible for managing pricing strategies, rate procurement, customer relationships, and commercial support for the Freight Forwarding business. The role requires strong market knowledge, coordination with carriers and overseas agents, and the ability to provide competitive logistics solutions while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Commercial Management
· Procure and negotiate freight rates with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and logistics service providers.
· Prepare competitive quotations for Air Freight, Sea Freight (FCL/LCL), and Multimodal shipments.
· Analyze market trends, freight rates, and competitor pricing to ensure competitive offerings.
· Maintain and update pricing databases and rate contracts.
· Coordinate with overseas agents and partners for international freight pricing requirements.
· Support the sales team with timely quotations and commercial proposals.
Customer Relationship Management
· Serve as the primary point of contact for key customers regarding pricing and service-related matters.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
· Address customer queries, concerns, and service issues in a timely and professional manner.
· Conduct regular customer reviews and satisfaction assessments.
· Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling logistics services.
Operational Coordination
· Work closely with Operations, Sales, Customs Clearance, and Finance teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
· Monitor shipment performance and customer service levels.
· Ensure adherence to company policies and service standards.
Requirements
· Minimum 5 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
· At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Pricing, Commercial Operations, or Customer Relationship Management within the Freight Forwarding industry.
· Strong knowledge of Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Clearance, and International Logistics.
· Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics management systems.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
· Experience with Freight Forwarders, NVOCCs, CHA companies, or Integrated Logistics Service Providers.
· Strong industry network with shipping lines, airlines, and overseas agents.
· Customer-focused mindset with strong commercial acumen.
· Proven ability to manage key accounts and drive customer retention.
