Position Overview
The Brand Strategist is the guardian of the brand’s soul. You will be responsible for defining who we are, why we exist, and how we show up in the world. You will bridge the gap between business goals and consumer needs, translating data and insights into compelling brand stories, positioning strategies, and go-to-market frameworks.
You are part psychologist, part data analyst, and part creative visionary. You don’t just execute campaigns; you architect the platform upon which all marketing is built.
Key Responsibilities1. Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Develop and refine the brand positioning, messaging hierarchy, and value proposition to ensure differentiation in the market.
- Define and maintain the brand architecture (portfolio strategy) to ensure clarity across product lines/sub-brands.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify white space opportunities and emerging trends.
- Create and manage the Brand Guidelines to ensure consistent brand expression across all touchpoints.
2. Consumer & Market Insight
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data (surveys, focus groups, social listening, sales data) to create actionable insights.
- Develop detailed customer personas and journey maps to humanize the target audience.
- Monitor cultural trends and consumer behavior shifts to keep the brand relevant and ahead of the curve.
3. Creative Strategy & Briefing
- Translate business objectives into clear, inspiring Creative Briefs for internal teams (design, copywriting, video) or external agencies.
- Act as the strategic lead during the creative development process, ensuring all output aligns with the strategic intent.
- Collaborate with the creative team to develop the "Big Idea" for campaigns.
4. Go-to-Market (GTM) & Execution
- Partner with Product Marketing and Growth teams to ensure the brand narrative is embedded in the product launch strategy.
- Develop the "look and feel" and narrative framework for major campaign seasons ([e.g., Q4, Back-to-School, or Product Launches]).
- Provide strategic oversight for content strategy, ensuring storytelling is cohesive across digital, social, print, and experiential channels.
5. Measurement & Evolution
- Define KPIs for brand health (e.g., awareness, consideration, NPS, share of voice).
- Track the effectiveness of brand campaigns and adjust strategy based on performance data.
- Present strategic recommendations and performance reports to senior leadership.
QualificationsRequired Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Psychology, or related field. (MBA preferred).
- Experience: [3-5 years] of experience in brand strategy, brand management, or strategic planning, preferably within [Agency / In-House / Specific Industry] .
- Portfolio: A portfolio or case studies demonstrating strategic thinking and successful brand transformations/campaigns.

- Storyteller: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex concepts into simple, powerful narratives.

- Collaborative: Proven ability to work cross-functionally (with Product, Sales, and Design teams) and influence stakeholders.
- Curious: A voracious consumer of culture, media, and trends.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite / Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with research tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) and social listening tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprout Social).
- Experience with Keynote / PowerPoint (presentation design matters).
