About the Role
Mind & Brain Hospital is looking for a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide assessment, diagnosis, therapy, and rehabilitation services for patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing-related difficulties.
The SLP will work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other clinical professionals to provide coordinated and patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments as clinically appropriate.
- Identify and evaluate speech, language, articulation, fluency, voice, and communication difficulties.
- Develop individualized therapy plans based on patient needs and clinical assessment.
- Provide individual and group-based speech and language therapy sessions.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient clinical records, assessment reports, therapy notes, and progress reports.
- Monitor patient progress and modify therapy plans based on clinical outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide appropriate counselling and guidance to patients, parents, and caregivers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with hospital policies and professional standards.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of assigned assessments and reports.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, documentation, and other hospital protocols.
- Support awareness programs, clinical activities, and other departmental initiatives when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology / Speech and Hearing (BASLP/MASLP) from a recognized institution.
- Valid professional registration/certification as applicable.
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Good clinical assessment and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a hospital, rehabilitation centre, mental-health setting, or clinical environment.
- Experience with children and/or adults with communication difficulties.
- Good report-writing and clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional, ethical, and responsible approach to patient care.
