Job Title: Commis Chef
Department: Kitchen / Food Production
Reports To: Chef de Partie (CDP) / Sous Chef
Job Summary
The Commis Chef assists senior kitchen staff in food preparation and kitchen operations while maintaining quality, hygiene, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparation and cooking of food as per instructions
Perform basic food preparation (cutting, chopping, marinating, etc.)
Follow standard recipes and presentation guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area
Ensure proper storage of food items as per FIFO method
Support CDP and Sous Chef during service hours
Handle kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
Minimize food wastage and report shortages
Comply with food safety, hygiene, and safety standards
Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
Ability to work in a team and under pressure
Time management and discipline
Good personal hygiene and grooming
Qualifications
Certificate / Diploma in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred
0–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen (freshers can apply)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
