Role description
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise Windows Server infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
- Administer VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN) and/or Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including HA, DRS, clustering, vMotion, and capacity management.
- Manage server lifecycle activities including provisioning, patching, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, storage utilization, and capacity planning to ensure maximum availability.
- Support enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS), storage replication, snapshots, and backup integration.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, operating system, storage, and virtualization issues while minimizing business impact.
Microsoft Azure & Hybrid Cloud
- Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure services, including:
- Virtual Machines
- Virtual Networks
- Storage Accounts
- Load Balancers
- Azure Backup
- Azure Site Recovery (ASR)
- Support cloud migration initiatives and hybrid infrastructure deployments.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including:
- User and group management
- App registrations
- Enterprise Applications
- Service Principals
- RBAC assignments
- Administrative consent
- Maintain hybrid identity using Azure AD Connect.
- Monitor Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and native monitoring tools.
Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Services
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including:
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Teams
- SharePoint Online
- OneDrive
- Manage licensing, service health monitoring, and tenant administration.
- Support Microsoft Exchange (On-Premises and Hybrid), including:
- Mailboxes
- Mail flow
- Transport Rules
- Connectors
- Hybrid Configuration
- Assist users and application teams with Microsoft 365 and collaboration platform issues.
Messaging Security
- Administer Proofpoint Email Protection, including:
- Security policies
- Spam filtering
- Threat intelligence
- Quarantine management
- Reporting
- Maintain email authentication standards including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
- Collaborate with security teams to investigate phishing attempts, malware campaigns, and email-related security incidents.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Terraform.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and routine administrative tasks.
- Support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) initiatives and CI/CD integration where applicable.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
Operations & Support
- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and service requests.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver secure and scalable infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support for business-critical systems outside normal business hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Administration, or Platform Engineering.
- Strong experience managing hybrid infrastructure consisting of on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Hands-on experience administering enterprise virtualization platforms.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 enterprise environments.
- Experience implementing enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
