The Associate, Finance Operations will be part of the broader Finance Operations team, supporting day-to-day transactional finance activities with a focus on employee expense reimbursements, travel and entertainment (T&E) expenses for our EU & USA entities. This role is based in India in a hybrid in-office model.
Review and process employee expense and T&E claim for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance, approving or returning items with clear comments for various regions.
Perform periodic expense-related reconciliations, handle Corporate Travel Account (CTA) card reconciliations, and verify payout details to ensure ledger accuracy.
When required, handle P2P activities, including creation of PO, invoice processing, and resolving routine mismatches or missing information with stakeholders and vendors.
Act as a first-line contact for internal teams on expense, payment, and P2P questions, providing timely, professional responses and escalating more complex issues where needed.
Maintain high data quality, follow established SOPs and controls, and support audits or process reviews by providing accurate documentation and explanations.
Contribute to continuous improvement by flagging recurring issues, suggesting enhancements, and supporting testing or rollout of process and system changes.
Ensure strict adherence to regional SLAs, internal audit requirements, statutory regulations, and record retention standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2-3 years of relevant experience in finance operations, expense audit, reimbursement processing, accounts payable, or other transactional finance roles
Basic understanding of core finance operations concepts, particularly around expenses, and policy management.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data with minimal errors.
Good written and verbal communication skills; able to explain policy decisions clearly and professionally to employees and vendors.
Comfort working with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and finance/expense/P2P systems; experience with tools like Coupa, SAP, or similar is a plus but not mandatory.
Ability to follow defined policies and procedures while exercising sound judgement on when to escalate issues.
Customer-oriented mindset, with a focus on responsiveness, quality, and timely resolution.
Willingness to work in a hybrid in-office environment in India and collaborate across time zones as needed.
