Are you passionate about guiding young minds toward fulfilling careers? We're on the lookout for a dedicated Career Guidance Counselor to support youths, particularly from low-income communities, in navigating their career paths and making informed decisions about their futures.
About the role:
The Career Guidance Counselor plays a crucial role in assisting youth from under-served communities navigate their career paths. The primary focus of the role is to provide comprehensive guidance, support, and resources to empower youth to make informed decisions regarding their career choices including education/ skilling .
Your role in supplementing the Organisational goals:
- Conduct one-to-one career counseling sessions with individual youth to understand the unique needs, aspirations, and challenges of youths.
- Provide guidance on educational pathways, skill development, and career options based on individual strengths and interests.
- Facilitate career exploration activities to help youths identify potential fields of interest.
- Assist youths in creating long-term career plans, considering their skills, values, and goals.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend appropriate training programs.
- Connect youths with skill-building opportunities to enhance their employability.
- Provide coaching and preparation for job interviews, including mock interviews and feedback.
- Organize and conduct workshops, seminars, and group sessions on career-related topics.
- Generate reports on the impact of career guidance programs for organizational evaluation.
- Supporting the rest of the team members as and when required.
Who we are looking for:
- Education: BA/MA in Psychology/Counseling/Training/HR or Post-Graduation in any field
- Certification in career counseling or a related field is desirable.
- Experience: Preferably1-2 years of experience, preferably in Career Counseling
- Ability to facilitate/ hold group counselling sessions for a batch of 25 to 30 students.
- Ability to counsel students appropriately, which will enable them to make the right decision towards their careers.
- Empathy and a genuine interest in helping individuals achieve their career goals.
- Knowledge of local job markets, educational institutions, and vocational training programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in the local language, Hindi, and English
- Immediate joiners are preferred.
- Open to travel to different centres.
