About the Role
Atiya Herbs Private Limited is looking for an experienced Product Development Manager to lead the development of innovative Ayurvedic and herbal formulations. The role is responsible for driving product innovation from concept to commercialization while collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality products that improve patient wellness.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Innovation
- Develop innovative Ayurvedic and herbal formulations based on patient needs, market trends, and scientific research.
- Design, evaluate, and optimize formulations, dosage forms, and ingredient combinations.
- Improve existing products for enhanced efficacy, safety, stability, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct formulation trials, documentation, and product development activities from concept to commercialization.
Manufacturing & Production Coordination
- Coordinate with Production for technology transfer and commercial-scale manufacturing.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to ensure consistency, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Resolve formulation-related challenges during production.
- Ensure adherence to approved manufacturing procedures and process controls.
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to establish and maintain quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, AYUSH guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support stability studies, validation activities, product specifications, and technical documentation.
- Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Procurement for sourcing quality raw materials and vendor evaluation.
- Partner with Marketing and Medical teams to communicate product benefits effectively.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal stakeholders regarding formulations and product performance.
Patient-Centric Product Development
- Develop formulations that enhance patient safety, wellness, and therapeutic outcomes.
- Analyze customer feedback and clinical observations to improve products.
- Promote innovation while maintaining the authenticity of Ayurvedic principles.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Ayurvedic and herbal formulation development.
- In-depth knowledge of medicinal herbs, extracts, and dosage forms.
- Excellent understanding of GMP, AYUSH regulations, and quality systems.
- Experience in technology transfer and manufacturing coordination.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Innovative mindset with a passion for patient wellness and continuous improvement.
Eligibility
- Education: BAMS / M.Pharm (Ayurveda) / M.Sc. / Ph.D. or equivalent in Ayurveda, Herbal Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields.
- Experience: 6–10 years in Ayurvedic or herbal medicine manufacturing and product development.
- Proven experience in developing and commercializing Ayurvedic/herbal formulations.
- Hands-on exposure to GMP-compliant manufacturing facilities and quality systems.
- Knowledge of AYUSH regulations will be an added advantage.
