Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Import Pricing Manager with strong expertise in Ocean and Air Import freight pricing. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of freight market scenarios, rate trends, capacity conditions, carrier strategies, and competitive pricing across major trade lanes.
The candidate should be an excellent negotiator with the ability to secure competitive and profitable rates while maintaining the company's profitability and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor prevailing freight market scenarios, rate trends, capacity conditions, carrier strategies, and competitive pricing across major trade lanes.
- Manage Ocean and Air Import freight pricing, including:
- Freight rates
- Surcharges
- Local charges
- Routing
- Transit times
- Applicable commercial terms
- Negotiate competitive and profitable rates with:
- Shipping Lines
- Airlines / Airline Carriers
- NVOCCs and Consolidators
- Co-loaders
- Local Transporters and Vendors
- Other relevant logistics service providers
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with shipping companies, airlines, consolidators, overseas agents, and local vendors.
- Source competitive rates while ensuring the company's required profitability and service standards.
- Maintain strong industry connections and stay updated on prevailing market rates.
- Provide quick, accurate, and commercially viable pricing solutions to the Sales and Business Development teams.
- Compare rates, evaluate routing options, analyze margins, and identify the most commercially suitable pricing solutions.
- Coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate pricing support.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience: 5–10 years in Import Pricing or a related Import/Export pricing field.
- Strong practical knowledge of Ocean and Air Import freight pricing.
- Strong understanding of Import regulations, tariffs, taxes, and trade agreements.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, coordination, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience working with freight forwarders or third-party logistics providers will be an advantage.
