The CSSD Technician is responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment. The role ensures that all sterile supplies are processed according to hospital policies, infection control standards, and quality protocols to support safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and decontaminate used surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Clean instruments manually and using automated washers/disinfectors as per protocols.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before sterilization.
- Assemble and pack instrument sets according to department standards.
- Operate sterilization equipment, including steam autoclaves, ETO, and low-temperature sterilizers (where applicable).
- Monitor and document sterilization cycles using physical, chemical, and biological indicators.
- Label, store, and distribute sterile supplies to various hospital departments.
- Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and report shortages or damaged items.
- Ensure proper handling, transportation, and storage of sterile and contaminated items.
- Follow infection prevention and control policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of CSSD equipment
Pay: ₹237,600.00 - ₹243,600.00 per year
