We are looking for an experienced Azure Database Migration & Cloud Architect with strong expertise in database migration, Azure architecture, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR). The ideal candidate will lead enterprise database modernization initiatives, design secure and scalable Azure architectures, and execute end-to-end migrations from SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to Azure platforms while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Migration
- Lead end-to-end database migration projects from SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB to Azure.
- Assess existing database environments and define migration strategies with minimal downtime.
- Perform schema conversion, data migration, validation, and post-migration optimization.
- Utilize Azure migration tools and best practices to ensure seamless migration.
- Troubleshoot migration challenges and optimize migrated workloads.
Azure Architecture
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available Azure database architectures.
- Architect cloud-native database solutions using Azure PaaS and IaaS services.
- Develop reference architectures, deployment standards, and governance models.
- Ensure solutions comply with security, compliance, and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams on cloud modernization initiatives.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)
- Design and implement enterprise-grade High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Configure backup, replication, failover clustering, geo-replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Conduct DR testing, failover validation, and business continuity planning.
- Monitor recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) and optimize resiliency.
Performance Optimization
- Analyze and optimize database performance, indexing, query execution, and resource utilization.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning for production environments.
- Resolve database performance bottlenecks and ensure optimal system availability.
Security & Governance
- Implement database security, encryption, identity management, and access control.
- Configure Azure Key Vault, auditing, and monitoring for database environments.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in SQL Server administration and migration.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Expertise in Azure Database Migration strategies and tools.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Architecture and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience designing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Database performance tuning and optimization.
- Strong SQL scripting and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with backup, restore, replication, clustering, and failover technologies.
- Knowledge of Azure networking, security, and governance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Azure Database Administrator Associate) are highly preferred.

- Experience with large-scale enterprise cloud migration projects.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized database deployments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
