POSITION: Receiving Inspection Quality Engineer

POSITION PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES: Receiving Inspection Quality Engineer ensures that all incoming raw materials, components, and assemblies meet engineering, contractual, and quality requirements before release to production. Ensuring that all incoming raw materials, components, and assemblies meet our rigorous engineering specifications, quality standards, and compliance regulations. Collaborate closely with internal manufacturing teams, procurement, and external suppliers to prevent defective materials from reaching our production lines. He/she acts as the technical bridge between a company's purchasing team, its suppliers, and internal manufacturing lines to prevent defects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Material Evaluation: Inspect supplier deliveries against engineering drawings, technical specifications, and Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) plans. Inspection & Testing: Execute incoming inspection plans on materials and parts using precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges). Defect Management: Identify, isolate, and quarantine non-conforming materials. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and manage the material disposition process. Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers to investigate the root cause of defective shipments and oversee Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Documentation Control: Review, Verify and approve supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), Material Test Reports (MTR), and First Article Inspection (FAI) records. Review and updation of part control and Inspection plan, SOP’s & Procedure. Process Optimization: Continually review and update receiving inspection instructions, sampling plans (AQL), and boundary standards to improve inspection efficiency and accuracy. Measurement Oversight: Operation and use precision measurement tools like micrometres, Hight gauge, Vernier, Thread Plugge Gauges (TPG) etc . Data & Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as supplier defect rates, inspection turnaround times, and NCR
Understanding of the PPAP process, continual improvements, KAIZEN, POKA YOKE, QMS, 7QC tools, MSA & SPC. Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications. Quality Systems: Deep understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949. Software: Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and digital quality metrics. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
5-6 years of experience in Machining Part, Sheet Matel and Moulding Part Inspection. Package up to:- 4.00 LPA Engineer Personal Attributes & Behavioral Traits: ● Detail and process-oriented and experienced in follow-through and completion of projects. ● Able to manage time over multiple deliverables ● Able to work unsupervised ● Able to work under tight deadlines ● Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
