Education
- M.Tech in Design Engineering / Mechanical Design / CAD-CAM
- Specialization or coursework in Materials Science, FEA, and Programming Tool
Relevant Experience
- 0 to 2 years in product design, simulation and materials engineering
- Experience in consumer product design preferred
Key Responsibilities/key deliverables
Key Responsibilities
- Develop optimized designs using CAD and FEA tools.
- Automate repetitive design tasks through scripting to improve efficiency.
- Evaluate and select suitable materials for design applications and introduce innovative materials to horology.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis to assess structural integrity, shock resistance, and water resistance of watch components.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up, GD&T, and fitment analysis for micro-mechanical parts.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure tooling and manufacturing feasibility.
- Validate designs through simulations, prototyping, and testing.
- Maintain accurate design documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials.

- Quality and accuracy of validated 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Comprehensive simulation reports and effective design iterations.
- Successful implementation of automated design tools/scripts resulting in measurable design cycle time reduction.
- Accuracy and reliability of simulation outcomes.

- Positive feedback from manufacturing and quality teams on design feasibility and performance

- Tolerance Stack up analysis & Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

- Familiarity with PLM systems and BOM management
