The Junior Associate will assist in tax litigation, tax advisory, corporate law, FEMA and RBI regulatory matters. The role offers extensive exposure to income-tax proceedings, GST proceedings appellate matters, legal drafting, regulatory compliance, corporate documentation and commercial transactions. The selected candidate will work closely with senior professionals and will be trained to independently handle legal research, drafting and client assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Litigation & Advisory
- Assist in preparation of replies to notices issued under the Income-tax Act, 1961.
- Draft submissions, appeals, written arguments and other documents for proceedings before tax authorities and appellate forums.
- Conduct legal research on direct tax laws, judicial precedents, CBDT circulars and notifications.
- Prepare case law compilations and technical research notes.
Corporate & Regulatory Matters
- Assist in drafting and reviewing agreements, resolutions, corporate documents and legal opinions.
- Support assignments relating to FEMA, ECB, RBI regulations and other regulatory compliances.
- Assist in due diligence, transaction structuring and corporate advisory engagements.
Research & Documentation
- Analyse statutes, rules, notifications and judicial pronouncements.
- Prepare legal memoranda and presentations.
- Maintain and organise legal databases, precedents and document repositories.
Financial & Commercial Analysis
- Review financial statements, tax computations and commercial documents.
- Analyse business transactions from legal and tax perspectives.
- Coordinate with chartered accountants, consultants and clients in relation to assignments.
Required Skills
