About the Role
As a digital content writer, you'll transform research into engaging stories, scripts, and digital content across YouTube and other platforms. This role combines storytelling, scriptwriting, SEO, and content packaging to create content that educates, inspires, and retains audiences.
You'll work closely with researchers, editors, designers, and the production team to ensure every piece of content is accurate, engaging, culturally respectful, and optimised for maximum reach.
Key Responsibilities:
Story Development & Scriptwriting
- Convert research briefs into compelling, well-structured narratives.
- Write scripts for long-form videos, documentaries, Kathas, saint stories, temple histories, and educational content.
- Develop scripts and contextual segments for bhajans, aartis, festivals, and other devotional topics.
- Craft engaging story arcs that maintain audience attention throughout the video.
- Ensure all content reflects authenticity, factual accuracy, and the intended tone.
Short-form Content
- Write scripts, hooks, and concepts for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other short-form content.
- Create compelling opening hooks that capture attention within the first few seconds.
- Repurpose long-form content into engaging short-form formats.
- Build narrative bridges that encourage viewers to watch longer content.
Content Packaging & SEO
- Write SEO-optimised titles, descriptions, chapters, and metadata.
- Create titles that balance discoverability with audience curiosity.
- Apply keyword research and search intent to improve content visibility.
- Develop reusable templates for titles, descriptions, and metadata.
Community & Platform Content
- Write community posts, announcements, polls, and promotional copy.
- Adapt content between Hindi and English when required.
- Maintain a consistent voice across YouTube, social media, and other digital platforms.
Collaboration
- Work closely with researchers to transform source material into engaging content.
- Collaborate with editors and production teams to ensure scripts translate effectively into the final video.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for new content ideas, series, and campaigns.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in content writing, scriptwriting, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
- Exceptional Hindi writing and storytelling skills with strong English writing abilities.
- Experience writing for YouTube, podcasts, documentaries, or digital-first platforms is preferred.
- Strong understanding of storytelling, audience retention, and content structure.
- Familiarity with YouTube SEO, titles, descriptions, hooks, and content packaging.
- Ability to simplify complex topics into engaging, easy-to-understand narratives.
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
- Knowledge of Indian culture, history, spirituality, or devotional content is an advantage.
