Key Purpose of the Job :
Principal is responsible for the performance of the College in teaching and learning, research and external engagement; and for planning and aligning financial and staff resources with the VU's strategic objectives. Principal is responsible for providing overall leadership for the programs and its faculty. Principal serves as an educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures.
Educational Qualification / Experience required :
Ph.D. Degree from a recognized University. Minimum 15 years of teaching/ administrative experience in recognized Universities, Colleges and other Institutions of Higher Education.

Indicative Tasks
Vision and Leadership
i) Formulate and implement a strategy that enhances the value and repulation of the college
ii) Align college processes to the strategy and mission of the Vijaybhoomi University
iii) Strategise for accreditation
iv) Innovative approaches to revenue generation
v) Revisit the strategy and consult with stakeholders for changes
vi) Promote collaboration and sharing of best practices between the various colleges
Ensure profitability & effectiveness of the PGPM Program
i. Admissions — Ensure that the seats allocated in each of the programs are filled and that the intake quality of students improves YoY. Ensure innovative market strategies to enhance student recruitment. Maintain student diversity.
ii. Faculty Planning & Recruitment — Work with HoDs and provide interventions/guidance wherever required for the faculty planning (number of faculties, faculty backgrounds, faculty area of specialization, workload distribution, etc.). Plan for ideal faculty-student/ faculty-course ratio.
iii. Student Services — ensure faculty impart teaching to the best of their ability and as required for the program; ensure career placements for the students, and providing a lifelong community at Vijaybhoomi University for the student(s). Also, handle escalations with student counselling & discpline issues
Successful management & delivery of the Courses
i. Enhancing Program Quality Standards — Assuring that assessment requirements and standards are appropriately planned and implemented across all courses; Reviewing the performance of the program, on the basis of program performance data and course experience reports.
ii. Program Leadership — Responsible for providing overall leadership for the courses and its faculty. Conduct regular faculty meeting(s), ensure the flow of critical information between the department or college(s) and all program faculty.
iii. Program Planning & Evaluation — Responsible for all program planning and evaluation activities - coordinating program goals and strategies; assessment of student learning outcomes and the annual Assessment Report; oversight of periodic program review and oversight of program accreditation.
Work towards enhancing IFIM Brand value
i. Develop strong internal/external networks and strategic alliances and promote the visibility and reputation of College and its faculty, nationally and internationally.
ii. Participate in important ranking surveys (Nationally) and ensure VU's position/ranking is improved YoY
iii. Conduct college level fest(s) and also ecourage IFIM students to participate in other national level competitions, etc.
Act as a Budget Holder
i. Plan & Design College Budget
ii. Commit to expenditure in line with the Budget limit
iii. Ensure that any expenditure approved is in line with VU’s financial procedures/regulations, including any policies which form part of these procedures/regulations.
iv. Ensure that no-one commits or incurs financial transactions that are not within budget, or not on agreed types of expenditure or for purposes other than those for which the funds were allocated
v. Manage the budget in a prudent manner and ensure that value for money is achieved in any purchases
vi. Regularly monitor expenditure using the reports provided by the Finance Team or as available in accounting system
vii. Only approve transactions in accordance with the authorisation limits
Compliance & Documentation responsibilities
i. Maintain all records as required by the Regulatory bodies.
ii. Be responsible for the proper registration and transfer of students in the college and for the maintenance of up-to-date student cumulative records.
iii. Monitor college course time-table and ensure timely conduct of the courses/classes.
iv. Assist in the protection of VU reputation (including responding to legal challenges).
v. Oversee the effective discharge of University statutory and legislative obligations. Also, Bar council in the case of Law College.
vi. Provide advice on obligations and compliance in relation to the provider/ affiliation bodies registration and other such requirements.
Counsel Member
i. Member of the VU Executive Counsel, which is collectively charged with advising on the development and implementation of VU strategic plan and implementation.
ii. Head various college working committees for Policies & Resources, Standards and Audit Committees, anti-ragging committee, discipline committee, examination committee, library committee, etc.
Leadership of faculty & students
i. Lead the faculty and students in accordance with the college mission.
ii. Development and implement organization structure, policies and procedures.
iii. Ensure optimum performance of academic staff in the School, assess the effectiveness of the workload allocation, hire faculty based on workload. Guide faculty as needed
iv. Responsible for annual appraisals
v. Responsible for nominating and sending faculties for training(s) as needed
Policy adherence
i. Ensure that quality and standards are maintained and that policies and procedures are followed.

Extensive experience in leadership and administration of Cambridge AS & A Level curriculum programmes
Pay: Up to ₹2,500,000.00 per year
